Thousands of event companies deserve the award from eventplanner.net. Most never receive it, for one trivial reason.
The counting stops at midnight on September 30. Every review written and approved up to that point counts towards the eventplanner.net Certificates of Excellence 2026. Any review after that does not.
Quality and proof
You don't earn a Certificate of Excellence just like that, and that is the intention. An event company or venue qualifies only if it has at least 10 reviews, at least 5 from this year, and an average score of more than 90%.
Those three conditions each do something different. A score of over 90% indicates that customers find your work exceptional. Not good, exceptional. The volume ensures that it is no coincidence: one glowing review is an anecdote, at least ten is a pattern. And those five recent reviews prove that it is still true today.
An event company? You can still do this this week.
Do you have three recent reviews? Then this is not a lost year, but an afternoon's work.
- Look in your calendar, not in your client database. The best candidates are clients whose event has just taken place. The memory is fresh, and gratitude is high.
- Ask one by one. Ten personal emails yield more results than a newsletter to a thousand addresses. You are asking for a favour, but that only works if it is presented as such.
- Keep it brief. "Leave a review" is vague. "Would you mind writing down how the day went in a few sentences?" is something someone handles between two meetings.
- Ask now, not on September 29. Every review is verified, and every reviewer is confirmed as a real customer. That is exactly what distinguishes our system from Google's or Facebook's and makes the award credible, but there is processing time involved.
- Also ask the customer for whom things didn't go flawlessly. An average of 94% with one critical review is more credible than a spotless 100%. And organisers primarily read how you respond to criticism. That answer says more about your company than the stars above it.
One practical note that is often forgotten: customers leave their reviews on your company page at eventplanner.co.uk. So always include that link in your post. The less they have to search, the greater the chance that it will actually happen.
Are you the organiser? Then you are the jury.
There is no professional jury behind these awards. No dossier, no entry fee, no presentation to a panel of colleagues who happen to be your competitors as well. Just customers writing down what they have experienced.
Have you worked with a venue, caterer, technical company, or artist this year that pleasantly surprised you? Then a review of just a few minutes is all that matters. Corporate event, festival, or wedding... it doesn't matter. You help an organiser facing the same choice next month; you do your supplier a bigger favour than you think, and you earn points yourself. With 1,000 points, you get a free year of eventplanner.PRO.
With more than 19,000 event companies and venues on the platform, the competition is fierce. That makes your voice heavier, not lighter.
What after October 1st
The counting stops on October 1. Our editorial team is reviewing the figures, and in the autumn, we will announce the winners of the Certificates of Excellence 2026.
Are you short on funds as an event company? Then the clock for 2027 starts ticking on that very day. Twelve months instead of two weeks. More than enough. Provided you actually ask this time.
Organizer? Write your review now. Event company without a business page? Create your business page now and collect real reviews too.
