Renting a party boat is easier than you think. In the list below, you will immediately notice that there is a huge variety of sailing event locations. There are party boats for a dozen people, but also boats that can accommodate thousands of guests. There are brand new event ships, but also ships with an interesting history. There are party boats that remain quietly moored at the quay, there are party boats or 'grande ladies' that sail stately through the water, and there are cosy canal boats. And for the daredevils, there are boats that blast fast over the rivers or the sea. From luxury motor yachts, fast motor boats, and cruise ships to real sailing boats. You can go either way!
What should you pay attention to when you rent a boat or yacht for a party?
What specific choices should you make when organising your event on a yacht or a boat?
If you rent a boat for a party and the ship stays at the quay, you can ignore the following. If you are going to sail, determine your sailing route. It depends on the time available and the type of boat you have chosen.
Everyone on board? Then you can cast off with your party boat. What types of packages does the location offer? What is included and what do you still need to arrange during your party or event? For example, a dinner and party on the water can be included, but what do you do with the decoration, lighting, acts, photographer, and music? Prefer not to worry? Look for all-inclusive packages.
Take all your guests into account. Will there be children? Then you need to provide a safe space where they can play. Do you have guests with disabilities or seniors? Can they get on and off board safely and are the facilities, such as toilets, accessible to them?
Do your guests come by car? Then they have to park it somewhere. Therefore, keep an eye on whether the mooring place of your party boat is easy to reach and whether there are sufficient parking spaces in the area.
It is important to have a good estimate of the number of guests at any event, but when organising an event on a boat, the number of guests is, of course, very important for the safety. You don't want to go out on the water with an overloaded boat. The number of guests also determines whether you should go for a cruise ship, a 100-meter sailing yacht, or a small-scale luxury yacht, for example.
Finally, most people like surprises. But if you are organising a party on a boat, and you are actually going to sail, it is best to state on the invitation that you have not opted for a traditional party room. People who are easily seasick can make preparations this way.
