Airbnb has announced its first-ever global partnership in the live music space, teaming up with Live Nation, AEG Presents, and Eventim to connect travellers with more than 70,000 concerts and festivals worldwide.
The new initiative focuses on the globally recognised Lollapalooza festivals, starting with editions in Paris, Berlin, Argentina, Brazil, and Chicago.
As part of the partnership, Airbnb becomes the official hosting partner for these festivals, allowing attendees to find nearby stays and plan their trips directly through the platform. A dedicated festival landing page on Airbnb highlights listings close to each event, streamlining the booking experience for music fans.
This collaboration marks a significant step in Airbnb's evolution from a lodging platform to a broader lifestyle and experience brand. The company has previously explored local experiences and virtual events, but this is its first structured alliance with global live music promoters.
In addition to the Lollapalooza focus, users can now browse and book tickets to a wide range of concerts and festivals in major cities, including Los Angeles, New York, London, Paris, and Tokyo. Expansion to other markets is planned.
According to Airbnb, live music is one of the most requested categories by its users. The company aims to offer a more immersive and convenient travel planning experience by integrating event discovery and ticketing into the accommodation booking process.
The feature is live in select markets and will be rolled out further in the coming months.
