Successful networking evening
At SuperNova, we seek out the best locations in Antwerp, and we certainly found them at WOLF. The location at the MAS is ideal and easily accessible for visitors. The range of different spaces makes it easy to organize a tailor-made event at WOLF; for us, that was a networking evening with food and drinks.

Renting a meeting room, what are the advantages?
Maybe you have conference rooms in your company building. But did you know that by using an external conference room, you can work undisturbed? Due to the simple fact that you are at a different meeting location, that external location also provides extra inspiration. An inspiring meeting location is a major advantage, especially for creative exercises or when making strategic plans. A final extra when you rent an external meeting location is the fact that you can provide additional activities: a nice lunch or a tasty dinner to finish the hard work. But team-building activities also ensure that your team gets to work with renewed strength (or close the meeting in a nice way).
Tailor-made meeting locations
So you are convinced: you are going to rent a large conference room. But what are you paying attention to now? To start, how many participants will attend the meeting? That determines the required capacity of the room. Suppose you organise a meeting during which the participants stay mainly seated, then the space needed can be smaller than if you also provide other activities. It is also important how you are going to furnish the space to make it an inspiring meeting location. Are tables and chairs sufficient? How should these be arranged? In addition to your meeting room, do you also need break-out rooms to do parallel brainstorming sessions, for example? What are the technical possibilities of the meeting room? Is there internet and Wi-Fi? Is there a beamer or are there any other audiovisual materials such as LCD screens and microphones? Finally, how long do you need the conference room for? Can you rent them per hour, per half day, per day, or even for multi-day meetings?
If you are going to choose a meeting room, it is best to make a selection based on the atmosphere. If you need it mainly for presentations and to boost your thinking process, then a quiet environment, for example, in the middle of nature, is advisable. If you also do creative brainstorming exercises, you can organise a special meeting in an alternative environment that puts the brain to work. If you also provide team-building activities, then a sporty environment is a nice option and then noise from outside is less of an issue.
Are you organising a meeting for the management, board of directors, or supervisory board? Then you can opt to rent a special meeting location such as a luxurious boardroom.
Tip: a handy checklist for when you are going to view meeting rooms
So you have made a first selection of large meeting rooms that seem suitable for your meeting. Then it is now a good idea to do a site visit at the meeting location. These are four important elements to look out for in meeting rooms. 1) Are the promised facilities really there? 2) Are the rooms sufficiently soundproofed (in other words, won't you be disturbed by other groups meeting at the same location)? 3) Is there good ventilation (can you open windows and doors)? And is there heating and/or air conditioning? 4) Is there natural light in the conference room? The more natural light, the more productive you can work. Perhaps you like to meet in the open air? Many meeting locations offer this. Just make sure you have a plan B (an indoor space) to avoid rain interfering with your meeting or arrange solar screens for when it's hot.
