Centennial Hall Complex
- 733 N 8th St, Milwaukee 53233, USA
Centennial Hall is a historic venue within Milwaukee Public Library's Central Library building, available to eligible organisations looking for space for educational, cultural, civic, intellectual or charitable events. The self-contained complex brings together a large auditorium and two smaller rooms, making it possible to choose a setting suited to a public programme, lecture, meeting or community gathering.
The Koeppen-Gerlach Auditorium seats around 700 people, while the Ludwig E. Loos Room can accommodate up to 150 and the C.L. Masters Room up to 30, depending on the layout. Organisers can also reserve combinations of rooms, subject to availability and the venue's conditions. Library staff provide equipment, a personalised room set-up and security personnel for each event. Food arrangements are subject to restrictions, and food served in the complex must be provided by licensed caterers.
Centennial Hall is not a general-purpose hire space for every type of booking. Applicants must represent an organisation whose activities meet the venue's eligibility requirements, submit an application and provide the required insurance and deposit. A minimum three-hour booking applies in most cases, and applications should be submitted at least two months before the event. Organisers should allow time for set-up and clear-down within their reserved hours.
Located on North Eighth Street in downtown Milwaukee, the venue has a separate entrance from the library. Its mix of historic character, auditorium seating and smaller rooms makes it a practical option for qualifying organisations planning talks, presentations, workshops and other gatherings.
