Rederij het IJ

Rederij het IJ hires out the Stortemelk as a floating venue for groups of 75 to 350 people. The Stortemelk departs from centrally located boarding points in Amsterdam and Zaandam.

The Stortemelk has two large indoor lounges and spacious outdoor decks, including a panoramic deck. This means guests can enjoy the outdoors in good weather, while there is plenty of room in the (heated) lounges when it rains or is cold. The ship can be arranged flexibly, making it suitable for almost any occasion, such as a relaxed drinks reception, lively party, company outing, customer day, anniversary or association day. The ship is also certified, well maintained and equipped with every convenience.

Organisers can also extend their cruise with food and entertainment. Options include drinks snacks, buffets, a barbecue and a walking dinner. There are also options such as a DJ, live music, pub quiz, casino, cocktail bar and photo booth. The arrangements are tailored to the occasion and the group’s wishes.

A cruise on the Stortemelk usually travels across the Amsterdam IJ and the Markermeer, past places such as Forteiland Pampus and Muiderslot Kasteel. Beautiful cruises that let you leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind for a while.

Rederij het IJ is a small company with a personal approach. The owners always sail along and guide the organisation, so there is always one point of contact for the preparations and the day itself. The shipping company is also socially engaged and, among other things, runs on HVO100 diesel.
