The Dupree House

The Dupree House is a historic event venue in downtown Smithfield, North Carolina, offering a characterful setting for intimate weddings, family celebrations and corporate gatherings. The restored 1903 home combines period features with modern conveniences, giving organisers a distinctive alternative to a conventional function room.

Its spaces include C.E. Bingham Hall for receptions and larger gatherings, Grantham Terrace for outdoor ceremonies, the H.H. Whitley Lounge for drinks and smaller get-togethers, and the J.J. Adams Boardroom for meetings and retreats. The venue also has a wrap-around porch, a private back deck and gardens that can provide attractive settings for ceremonies, photos and time outdoors. Indoor and outdoor areas allow events to move between different parts of the property, with capacity for gatherings of up to around 70 guests.

The venue is suitable for wedding ceremonies and receptions, showers, birthdays, anniversaries, reunions, meetings, training sessions and corporate events. Organisers can bring their own caterers, florists, photographers and other suppliers, making it possible to shape the occasion around their preferences and budget. Customisable packages are available, including options for corporate room use, furniture and audiovisual equipment, as well as beverage service for corporate bookings.

The Dupree House offers event support and, for weddings held at the venue, day-of coordination. Organisers can contact the team to discuss dates, arrange a tour and request information about packages and planning requirements. Its downtown location is convenient for guests travelling to Smithfield, while the historic architecture and domestic scale create a warm, personal atmosphere for smaller events.
