Blackwood Living

Set on 33 acres near Hempstead, Texas, Blackwood Living offers a farm setting for weddings, private celebrations, company retreats and other gatherings. Its grounds combine gardens, woodland, a pond and open lawns, giving organisers a choice of peaceful outdoor locations as well as welcoming indoor spaces.

The main Gathering Hall can host wedding ceremonies for up to 200 guests and seated dinners for up to 140. It has heating and air conditioning, audio-visual facilities and an adjoining commercial kitchen. The lawn beside the hall provides room for outdoor parts of an event, while the gardens and shaded paths create a natural backdrop for guests. Baileyfield House offers further gathering space, a large porch overlooking the kitchen garden and overnight accommodation for groups of up to 38. Two private cabins are also available, including for wedding preparations.

Organisers can enquire about weddings, rehearsal dinners, family reunions, milestone celebrations, farm-to-table dinners, workshops and corporate retreats. The venue can be hired for a ten-hour event period, with tables and chairs included, and offers access to its catering kitchen. An on-site catering company can provide food, while outside caterers may also be used subject to the venue's requirements. For retreat groups, the property offers space to meet, stay overnight and take part in activities in a restorative rural setting. Blackwood Living works with organisers to discuss availability and shape an event around their plans.
