OKTOGON, on the grounds of the Zollverein Coal Mine in Essen, offers an exceptional venue for business and private events. The building was constructed on the foundations of former Cooling Tower II and combines striking industrial architecture with versatile event spaces. Across around 900 square metres, event planners can develop different room layouts for conferences, workshops, congresses, in-house trade fairs, exhibitions and presentations. Evening events, corporate parties, summer parties, Christmas parties and weddings are also part of the offering.
A spacious plenary room, flexible spaces and adjoining outdoor areas can be combined to suit the occasion and schedule. Whether you need focused work in smaller groups, a reception for guests or a formal dinner, the seating and layout can be tailored to the event format. The impressive ceiling height and historic surroundings also offer interesting possibilities for presentations and bespoke staging.
The team supports event planners from the initial enquiry through to delivery. Together, you can agree on the room layout, schedule and suitable services. These include technical equipment for video, lighting and sound, as well as additional options for catering, decoration and event design. For evening events, for example, reception, gala and dinner concepts can be planned. Depending on the event format, OKTOGON offers different capacities, which depend on the seating, stage set-up and layout.
The venue is located at the Zollverein UNESCO World Heritage Site and can be reached via the surrounding motorways. Parking is available nearby. This makes OKTOGON a suitable choice for event planners looking for a versatile venue in Essen with an industrial character, professional event technology and personal support.
