The Hafren

The Hafren is a theatre and conference venue in Newtown, offering event organisers a choice of spaces for performances, business events and special functions. Its main auditorium can accommodate up to 500 people, depending on the seating arrangement, and includes a stage, lighting, sound facilities and on-site technical support. It is available for theatre productions, live music, presentations, awards ceremonies, corporate events and community gatherings.

For smaller events, the venue has four conference rooms, with layouts including boardroom, horseshoe, cabaret and theatre styles. Room capacities range from small groups of six to eight in the Tanat room to up to 90 in the combined Teme and Camlad space. The rooms are suited to meetings, workshops, training sessions and other business gatherings, and can be hired for a half or full day. Standard conference facilities include Wi-Fi, IT equipment, a projector, a whiteboard and flipchart materials.

Catering can be arranged to suit event requirements, and refreshments are available. The conference rooms are on the ground floor, with accessible facilities and free on-site parking. The Hafren team can assist organisers with planning and event-day delivery, while the venue's technical staff support presentations and performances. Located on Llanidloes Road, the venue is just off the A489 Newtown Bypass and a little over a mile from Newtown railway station.
