Lake Junaluska Conference & Retreat Center

Shackford Hall is a historic event venue at Lake Junaluska in the mountains of western North Carolina. Its main auditorium can host up to 600 people in theatre-style seating, and offers a stage and audio-visual equipment for presentations, performances and group gatherings. The hall also contains nine breakout rooms, giving organisers space to divide a larger programme into smaller workshops, meetings or discussion sessions.

The rooms can be arranged in a range of layouts to suit different formats, including classroom, theatre, U-shape and banquet seating. Smaller spaces are available for more intimate functions, while the auditorium can accommodate conferences, retreats and private celebrations. The building's updated interior combines modern event facilities with the character of its historic setting, and the venue is accessible to guests with mobility needs.

Event planners can enquire about booking the hall through Lake Junaluska's event team. The wider conference and retreat centre offers additional venues, accommodation, dining and catering, which may help organisers coordinate a gathering across the site. For a conference or retreat, Shackford Hall's combination of a large plenary room and adjoining smaller spaces supports a programme with both shared sessions and breakouts. For a private party, its stage, auditorium and smaller rooms offer options for different group sizes and activities.

Set within the Lake Junaluska grounds, Shackford Hall gives organisers a dedicated indoor setting for meetings, group programmes and celebrations, with flexible room capacities and event services available through the wider centre.
