Nauticus

Nauticus offers a collection of distinctive waterfront venues in downtown Norfolk, Virginia, giving event organisers several memorable settings for weddings, corporate gatherings, private celebrations, family reunions, award ceremonies and special occasions. The collection brings together the Nauticus maritime museum, the historic Battleship Wisconsin and the Schooner Virginia, each providing a very different atmosphere and event experience.

The museum offers flexible indoor and outdoor spaces surrounded by interactive maritime exhibits and waterfront scenery. Its Brock Theater can seat up to 350 guests and is suited to presentations, performances and award ceremonies, with a large-format screen for visual content. Additional museum areas provide opportunities for receptions, family events and creative corporate functions, subject to availability and current renovation arrangements.

For a more unusual setting, organisers can host guests aboard Battleship Wisconsin. The ship’s main deck can accommodate up to 600 standing guests, while the fantail offers an open-air setting for up to 500 standing guests and views across the Elizabeth River. Smaller areas, including the Officer’s Wardroom and Gun Turret, are suitable for more intimate dinners and receptions.

The Schooner Virginia is available for private charters from April through October. It can host up to 55 guests and offers a three-hour sailing experience for celebrations, corporate outings, group gatherings and special occasions. The waterfront surroundings, historic vessels and maritime character create strong opportunities for photography and themed event design.

Nauticus also promotes dedicated wedding experiences, from waterfront ceremonies and sunset celebrations to receptions aboard the battleship. Event organisers can arrange a consultation with the venue team to discuss availability, layouts and the most suitable setting for their plans.
