Starport

Starport operates the Gilruth Center, a multipurpose conference and recreation facility at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston. The centre provides bookable spaces for meetings, training sessions, seminars, retreats, presentations, staff gatherings, celebrations and other organised activities, subject to approval and availability.

Event organisers can choose from several conference and training rooms, with capacities ranging from small boardroom-style meetings to larger gatherings. The Destiny Ballroom accommodates up to 300 guests depending on the layout, with options for dining, theatre seating, a built-in stage and an additional dance floor. Smaller rooms are equipped for meetings, presentations and hybrid sessions, with facilities such as screens, projectors, microphones, webcams, sound systems and wireless presentation tools available in selected spaces.

Beyond the indoor rooms, Starport also offers pavilions, a gymnasium, sports fields and other recreational areas for group activities, employee programmes, informal gatherings and community events. Organisers may arrange their own food and drink within the venue’s rules, while catering must be provided by approved caterers. Additional services and equipment can include audiovisual support, portable staging, dance floors, tables, bartending and event staff.

The facility is particularly suited to NASA organisations, JSC employees, Starport partners, contractors, professional groups and approved external organisers seeking practical event space in the Clear Lake area. Because the Gilruth Center is located on federal property, every reservation requires prior approval and confirmed booking arrangements.
