Wells Conference Center

Wells Conference Center is a full-service conference and event venue on the University of Maine campus in Orono, Maine. With more than 10,000 square feet of purpose-built space, it provides a practical setting for conferences, meetings, research symposia, retreats, banquets, presentations, receptions, weddings and other special events.

The venue includes four flexible spaces, with the largest room accommodating up to 300 guests in theatre style and 200 for a banquet. The full venue can host up to 420 people, while smaller rooms are suitable for workshops, board meetings, training sessions, breakout activities and more intimate gatherings. An open atrium is also available for registration, refreshments, networking and other pre-function use.

Event organisers benefit from a convenient one-stop planning service. The University of Maine team can assist with venue selection, room layouts, event technology, food and beverage planning, registration, accommodation arrangements, parking, signage, transport and security coordination. Standard technology options include microphones, projectors, screens, PA equipment, laptops, Zoom kits and on-site IT support.

In-house catering is provided for meetings and special events, with menus covering meals, receptions, refreshments and breaks. The catering team can accommodate a range of dietary, allergy and cultural requirements, while locally sourced ingredients are used whenever possible.

Complimentary Wi-Fi and adjacent parking add practical value for organisers and guests.
