Harbeson Hall

Harbeson Hall is a compact concert and recital venue located on the Pasadena City College campus in Pasadena, California. With seating for up to 217 guests, the hall is well suited to intimate performances, recitals, lectures, presentations, panel discussions, educational programmes and community events where clear sightlines and a focused auditorium setting are important.

The room has fixed seating with folding desktops, making it particularly practical for audiences attending spoken-word programmes, academic sessions and staged presentations. A raised stage accommodates up to 36 instruments or an 80-member choir, offering flexibility for instrumental concerts, choral performances and other live cultural events. The venue also includes a fixed lectern with microphone, an eight-channel mixer, a ceiling-mounted data projector and a retractable screen positioned above the stage.

Lighting facilities include dimmable house lighting, front-of-house circuits, stage circuits and installed theatrical fixtures. A video monitoring system feeds the side rooms, supporting basic production coordination. Restrooms are available in the front lobby, while the hall itself provides a straightforward, auditorium-style layout for events that prioritise performance, presentation or audience engagement.

Organisers should note that the venue has fixed seating, does not permit food inside the room or lobby, and has no dressing rooms. Tables are also not permitted. These restrictions make Harbeson Hall best suited to concerts, recitals, talks, screenings, ceremonies, seminars and formal presentations rather than dining-led or reception-style events.
