San Francisco Playhouse

San Francisco Playhouse is the Bay Area’s premier mid-sized theater company. Staging six plays and musicals per year at its theater on Post Street, as well as three world premieres per year at intimate stages in downtown San Francisco, the Playhouse presents over 400 performances per year. Located in the heart of the Union Square Theater District, San Francisco Playhouse is the city’s Off-Broadway company, an intimate alternative to the larger, more traditional Union Square theater fare. Besides providing the community with performances and premiers, the venue can also be rented for your private conference or performance. With multiple spaces up for rent, the Playhouse provides a variety of event opportunities. The premier mid-size theater hall can seat up to 300+ people at once for your conference or theater performance and is filled with beautiful 1920s architectural detail. This space is well-equipped with state-of-the-art video, lights & sound equipment. You can also hold a Pre- or Post-Event Reception in the elegant 900 square feet lobby, available with bar tables & seating areas. Full bar & concessions packages have been prepared by the Playhouse for your comfort. This space is perfect for VIP receptions, as you get access to the Special VIP lounge (which holds 15 – 20 guests).
