Losberger De Boer is helping to build the first temporary mass vaccination center in Germany
The first mass vaccination center for vaccination with the Covid-19 vaccine has been completed in Germany. The center was built by Losberger De Boer , who made use of Belgian and Dutch specialists. In the coming weeks, the company will install several temporary vaccination centers in Germany. The Dutch-German company, with a branch in Bree, indicates that it has the blueprint ready for a rollout in Belgium.
In order to prevent the large-scale vaccination campaign from causing too much fuss among the regular health authorities, the German municipality of Recklinghausen commissioned Losberger De Boer, located in Bree and Fürfeld, to design and install a mass vaccination center. Within days, the company built a 1,900 m2 center, where 2,000 people a day can be vaccinated. The building will soon be in use for six to twelve months and is one of the largest vaccination locations in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
Vaccinate in disinfected air
The vaccination center is designed to safely vaccinate a large flow of people. It is equipped with a newly designed and innovative hygiene concept, which disinfects the air when the structure is not in use. This provides a completely sterile space. The system also provides better ventilation. The layout is geared towards a rapid flow and sufficient distance between visitors and visitors and medical professionals. In combination with the hygiene system, this ensures an extremely low risk of contamination.
Safe workplace for healthcare workers
The large-scale vaccination facility was designed by German engineers at Losberger De Boer and built by a project team reinforced with Belgian specialists. The company indicates that it has a blueprint with which vaccination centers can also be built and set up in Belgium in the short term. “The plans are ready,” says Tim Smedts, Managing Director of Losberger De Boer in Belgium. “This vaccination center is designed to be able to safely vaccinate more people for a longer period of time than at regular vaccination locations. The design also takes into account a good, safe workplace for the healthcare workers who carry out the vaccinations. ”
Sufficient material for a quick rollout
Because the center consists of modular building structures, it can be adapted per location.
“We can adapt the scale to the location or the local circumstances,” says Westerwaal, who indicates that the company is in the starting blocks for a further rollout. "We have sufficient materials and manpower available to install vaccination centers on a large scale in both Belgium and Germany."
Since the start of the pandemic, Losberger De Boer has adapted its structures to support healthcare. The construction company's structures have been used worldwide as triage centers, emergency hospitals and test sites. Het bedrijf bouwde binnen enkele dagen een 1900 m2 groot centrum, waar 2000 mensen per dag kunnen worden ingeënt. Het gebouw zal straks zes tot twaalf maanden in gebruik zijn en is één van de grootste inentingslocaties in de deelstaat Nordrhein-Westfalen.
Vaccineren in gedesinfecteerde lucht
Het vaccinatiecentrum is ontworpen om een grote stroom mensen op een veilige wijze te laten inenten. Het is uitgerust met een nieuw ontworpen en innovatief hygiëneconcept, waarmee de lucht wordt gedesinfecteerd wanneer de structuur niet in gebruik is. Dit levert een volkomen steriele ruimte op. Ook zorgt het systeem voor een betere ventilatie. De inrichting is toegespitst op een snelle doorstroming en voldoende afstand tussen bezoekers onderling en bezoekers en medische professionals. In combinatie met het hygiënesysteem zorgt dit voor een extreem lage besmettingskans.
Veilige werkplek voor zorgmedewerkers
De grootschalige vaccinatiefaciliteit is ontworpen door Duitse engineers van Losberger De Boer en gebouwd door een met Belgische specialisten versterkt projectteam. Het bedrijf geeft aan een blauwdruk te hebben waarmee ook in België op korte termijn vaccinatiecentra gebouwd en ingericht kunnen worden. “De plannen liggen klaar”, begint Tim Smedts, Managing Director van Losberger De Boer in België. “Dit vaccinatiecentrum is ontworpen om voor langere tijd meer mensen op een veilige manier te kunnen inenten dan bij reguliere vaccinatielocaties. Ook is in het ontwerp rekening gehouden met een goede, veilige werkplek voor de zorgmedewerkers die het inenten uitvoeren.”
Voldoende materiaal voor snelle uitrol
Omdat het centrum bestaat uit modulaire bouwstructuren, kan het per locatie aangepast worden.
“We kunnen de schaalgrootte aanpassen op de locatie of de lokale omstandigheden”, aldus Westerwaal, die aangeeft dat het bedrijf in de startblokken staat voor een verdere uitrol. “We hebben voldoende materialen en mankracht beschikbaar om zowel in België als Duitsland op grote schaal vaccinatiecentra te plaatsen.”
Sinds de start van de pandemie, heeft Losberger De Boer haar structuren aangepast om de zorg te ondersteunen. Structuren van het bouwbedrijf zijn wereldwijd gebruikt als triagecentra, noodhospitalen en testlocaties.
