District 5 Schoolhouse

District 5 Schoolhouse is a historic event venue in Zeeland, Michigan, offering a distinctive setting for weddings, receptions and private gatherings. Built in 1908 and later restored, the former schoolhouse retains original architectural details while providing flexible spaces for contemporary events. The venue has capacity for up to 180 guests and is available throughout the year.

Couples can arrange ceremonies and receptions indoors or outdoors, with options for rehearsal dinners and time for preparation before the wedding. The property also welcomes celebrations such as showers, birthday parties, family reunions, dinners, graduations and other group occasions. For smaller gatherings, the Silver Room accommodates up to 50 guests and the Gold Room up to 125, with both rooms offering a more compact booking option.

The grounds include two outdoor event areas, decks with seating, a bonfire area and yard games. Inside, organisers will find a bridal lounge, a separate grooms' lounge, a bar service area and a walk-in cooler. Tables, chairs, linens, arbors and selected decorations are available as part of the venue offering. An on-site facility coordinator is present during events, and set-up and pack-down are included with full-day bookings.

Organisers can choose their own caterer and other event services, giving them flexibility over food, music and bar arrangements. The venue provides free parking and wheelchair-accessible entry, with hotels nearby for guests travelling from further afield. Its mix of historic character, indoor facilities and outdoor space makes it suitable for both wedding celebrations and a range of private or business events.
