Ancien Évêché

3 Rue Tourny, 24200 Sarlat-la-Canéda, France

In the heart of Sarlat-la-Canéda, Ancien Évêché hosts exhibition projects in a listed historic monument in the medieval town. The town makes its spaces available for hire through Centre culturel de Sarlat. The venue is particularly suited to artists, associations and organisers who want to present works or develop a cultural project in a heritage setting.
The venue comprises three rooms of different sizes: salle Saint-Exupéry, at around 115 m², salle Molière, at around 118 m², and salle Jean-Tarde, at around 14 m². These areas make it possible to consider different formats for hanging and presenting work, depending on the nature of the project and the space required. The programme features a range of disciplines, from visual and fine arts to photography, sculpture and creative crafts, as well as digital creations and installations. Performances, readings or musical events can also accompany some exhibitions.
For cultural event planners, the site offers a central address and a setting steeped in history, suitable for presenting art to the public. Bookings and information about the rooms can be requested from Centre culturel de Sarlat, which manages the municipal exhibition spaces. Organisers can enquire about availability and the terms that apply to their project before preparing their exhibition in the former bishop's palace.
