The Civic Hall

The Civic Hall is a flexible venue in Grays, Essex, available for private and commercial hire. Its adaptable main hall can host a wide range of occasions, from wedding receptions and family celebrations to conferences, exhibitions, concerts, awards evenings and company events. Organisers can discuss different room layouts to suit their guest numbers and programme, including theatre, cabaret and dining arrangements.

The hall has a stage, technical facilities and retractable tiered seating, making it suitable for presentations and live performances as well as receptions. A sprung wooden dance floor provides space for dancing and entertainment. The venue also has a large kitchen, a fully licensed bar and an air-conditioned foyer where guests can gather. Catering options can be discussed when planning a booking, and the team can offer support with event arrangements. Dressing rooms and a separate rehearsal or dance studio are available for occasions that need performance or preparation space.

Published capacities include up to 800 guests standing, 747 in theatre layout and 432 for a wedding reception. These figures vary with the chosen layout and requirements, so organisers should confirm the arrangement that best suits their event. The Civic Hall also provides free on-site parking, including accessible spaces, and has access throughout the venue for disabled visitors. Located beside Impulse Leisure Blackshots, it offers a practical setting for organisers seeking a well-equipped hall for celebrations, business gatherings or public events.
