Tryon Life Community Farm

Tryon Life Community Farm is a community-created event venue in southwest Portland, set on a working sustainability and education site beside Tryon Creek State Park. Organisers can book its land and gathering spaces for weddings, retreats, workshops, meetings, birthdays, parties and other group events. The setting brings together cultivated gardens, woodland edges and handmade structures, offering a relaxed alternative to a conventional function room.

Spaces include a heated, insulated yurt for indoor gatherings, a grassy Village Green, a covered stage, a garden-facing deck and a small earthen room suited to quieter activities. Groups can also make use of the outdoor kitchen, picnic areas and several natural gathering spots across the farm. The site has composting toilets, and its character makes it particularly suitable for events centred on nature, community, sustainability or wellbeing.

Depending on availability, organisers can request additional support such as food prepared by local cooks, childcare, meeting facilitation, guided farm tours and help with volunteer work projects. Food options may include vegetarian, vegan, seasonal and locally sourced menus. Services are arranged separately and are not guaranteed for every booking, so planners should discuss requirements with the farm team in advance.

Tryon Life Community Farm welcomes groups whose gatherings align with its community and ecological values. Hosts coordinate details with a farm contact and agree on how the space will be used. The venue has limited visitor parking, so organisers should plan for carpooling or public transport where possible. Its mix of indoor shelter and outdoor settings gives event planners a distinctive Portland location for gatherings that benefit from a close connection to the natural landscape.
