Simpson House

Simpson House offers event planners an exclusive historic setting for weddings, celebrations and gatherings in Kansas City. Built in 1909, the three-storey mansion combines period architecture and craftsmanship with renovated spaces for hosting guests. Its distinctive character comes through in the grand entrance, carved woodwork, stained-glass details and chandelier-lit rooms.

The main floor includes a Great Room suitable for dining or dancing, a dining room, a light-filled solarium and a foyer with a striking staircase. The Great Room seats up to 70, while the dining room seats up to 40. Smaller groups can make use of the upstairs library, and two dressing rooms offer space for wedding parties to prepare. A catering kitchen is available for event use, giving organisers practical support when arranging food service.

Outside, landscaped gardens and a porch provide options for ceremonies, photographs, drinks receptions and other parts of a celebration. The venue advertises capacity for up to 150 guests and welcomes a broad range of occasions, including weddings and receptions, birthday parties, anniversaries, memorials, reunions, showers, nonprofit functions and corporate events. Its spaces can support different stages of an event, from getting ready and ceremonies through to cocktails and receptions.

Located in the Southmoreland area, Simpson House is available to visit by appointment. Event planners can contact the venue to arrange a tour and discuss the spaces for their occasion. The house's combination of indoor rooms, outdoor grounds and historic character makes it a distinctive choice for private and organisational events in Kansas City.
