Church House, Crowcombe

Church House, Crowcombe, is a distinctive heritage venue in West Somerset, available to hire for wedding receptions, family celebrations, meetings, training courses, art exhibitions and craft fairs. Built around 1515, this Grade II* listed building offers organisers a characterful alternative to a conventional function room, with historic details including its stone exterior and the Gallery's original timber roof.

The building has two main spaces, which can be booked separately or together for exclusive use. Upstairs, the Gallery provides an atmospheric setting for receptions and exhibitions, with room for tables and chairs for up to 80 wedding guests. Exhibition spotlights are available in this space. The downstairs Meeting Room suits smaller gatherings, training sessions and social occasions, accommodating about 35 people. It has ground-level wheelchair access, as do the adjoining Servery and toilets.

Hirers have access to tables and chairs, central heating and a fully equipped Servery with preparation surfaces, washing-up facilities, a dishwasher, crockery and cutlery for up to 80 people. Organisers can arrange their own catering, and the venue can suggest local caterers. There is free parking at the rear of the building.

Bookings are available for part-day or full-day hire, with options for multi-day exhibitions and exclusive building use. The venue's wedding reception hire includes access from the day before the celebration until the afternoon afterwards, giving couples time to prepare and clear away. Set in the village of Crowcombe, Church House is run by a local volunteer committee and offers a historic setting for events of different sizes.
