Our Kaka'ako

Our Kaka'ako is a nine-block community in Honolulu, known for its local businesses, dining, shopping, street art and public events. For event organisers, the key bookable space is The Barn at SALT at Our Kaka'ako, an event location available to groups, organisations and local residents for private and non-profit gatherings.

Organisers can submit an event request for consideration. Dates are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, and each event needs approval from the SALT management team. The venue supplies the space, with tables and chairs available subject to availability. Organisers should arrange other requirements independently: the venue does not provide event catering, food or drinks, entertainment, music, staging, audio-visual equipment, parking coordination or venue set-up.

Before booking, planners should account for the venue's operating rules. Applications require event details and a proposed layout, along with the relevant insurance and other documentation. Additional requirements apply when alcohol is served or sold. Outside food and beverage vendors are not permitted in The Barn, and cooking or open flames are not allowed inside. Organisers are responsible for managing their own event suppliers and logistics, including parking.

Alongside the bookable space, Our Kaka'ako hosts community activities and seasonal public events, and invites vendors to enquire about participating in those events.
