Hyde Festival Theatre

Hyde Festival Theatre is a community-run venue in the centre of Hyde, available to hire for productions, performances and selected business gatherings. Local groups, societies, dance schools and production companies can use its spaces to stage their own work, with the theatre offering a practical base for both larger productions and more intimate events.

The Main House auditorium seats up to 230 people and is suited to plays, musicals, comedy, dance and other staged performances. It has step-free access from the street and space for wheelchair users. For smaller productions, cabaret, music or comedy, the Madge Bayes Hall provides a more intimate setting with seating for up to 80. The hall can also be hired for training sessions and conferences. It is a blank-canvas space, so organisers should plan their layout and furnishings in advance. Please note that the studio is upstairs and only accessible by stairs.

The theatre is generally hired on a dry-hire basis. Organisers take responsibility for the building during their booking and should arrange their own technical team, using the venue's approved technicians or its technical partner where required. The theatre has sound and lighting equipment, but hirers' technicians are responsible for setting it up and operating it. Dressing rooms and storage space are available, subject to arrangements with the theatre.
