The Temple Downtown

The Temple Downtown is a historic event venue in central Mobile, Alabama, where organisers can host weddings, parties, dances and other gatherings in a distinctive former Masonic building. Known previously as the Scottish Rite Temple, the venue is recognised for its Egyptian-inspired architecture and memorable interior details, including a sphinx and decorative features influenced by ancient Egyptian temples.

Its character makes it a striking setting for occasions where the surroundings are an important part of the guest experience. The venue's gallery highlights a range of uses, including weddings, parties, dances, conventions and other events. Organisers can explore the space and discuss the requirements of their gathering directly with the venue team. The building's historic appearance offers a different atmosphere from a conventional function room, making it suitable for celebrations and events that benefit from a distinctive backdrop.

Located on St. Francis Street in downtown Mobile, The Temple Downtown is within the city's central business district. The venue lists weekday office hours and provides direct contact details for enquiries. Its website also invites visitors to get in touch for more information, so event planners can ask about availability, arrangements and the suitability of the space for their plans. The Temple Downtown is a venue rather than an event organiser, giving planners a historic location to consider for private and public occasions in Mobile.
