The Red Barn at Hampshire College

The Red Barn at Hampshire College is a historic event venue in Amherst, Massachusetts, set against the landscape of the Pioneer Valley. Built in the early nineteenth century, the barn retains its traditional post-and-beam character and wide wooden floors, while heating and ventilation allow events to take place throughout the year.

The venue is especially suited to weddings and ceremonies, as well as meetings and other private or organisational gatherings. Couples can hold an outdoor ceremony near the oak tree in warmer months, or celebrate indoors in colder weather. The barn's deck offers an additional setting for a drinks reception, with views towards the Mount Holyoke Range. Wedding arrangements include a personal event coordinator to help with the schedule, planning details and food and drink choices.

On-site catering is available, with menus that can be tailored to the style of the occasion. Plated meals and buffets are offered, and the kitchen can accommodate vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free requirements. The venue's wedding arrangements also include furnishings, linens, lighting and use of the grounds for photographs. Capacity depends on the meal format, with space for up to 140 guests for a plated meal.

Hampshire College has announced that events at the Red Barn will continue as scheduled through December 2026. The College says deposits for events booked in 2027 will be returned, so organisers should confirm availability before making plans.
