South Dalziel Historic Building

South Dalziel Historic Building is a distinctive venue in Motherwell, housed in a former church dating from 1789. Its sandstone exterior, historic character and stained-glass windows give event organisers a memorable setting for celebrations and gatherings. The building is run as a not-for-profit community interest company, with its income supporting the upkeep of the property and its community use.

The venue welcomes couples planning wedding ceremonies and receptions, and offers packages for weddings and other occasions. Its rooms are also available for birthday parties, family celebrations, baby and bridal showers, christenings, communions and naming ceremonies. Organisers can enquire about arrangements for their event and request brochures covering the available packages.

Several spaces offer different layouts and capacities. Studio 1 includes a stage area and can seat around 150 guests in a cabaret-style arrangement. Studio 2 has a mirrored wall and projector screen, with theatre-style seating for about 80. Studio 3 accommodates approximately 30 to 50 people, while Studio 4 is set up as a meeting room with a projector. These options suit both social occasions and smaller corporate meetings or group sessions.

Event organisers can contact the venue to discuss room hire, packages and practical arrangements. Catering or bar services require advance notice, and bar service is provided by the venue. The building also hosts recurring children’s and adult classes, though the spaces are available to hire for private and corporate events as well. Its combination of historic architecture and flexible rooms makes South Dalziel a characterful choice for events in Motherwell.
