St. Sampson's Centre

St. Sampson's Centre offers welcoming indoor and outdoor spaces for hire in the heart of York. Based in a former church building, the centre combines a distinctive setting with practical facilities for organisers planning a range of gatherings. Its rooms can suit celebrations, workshops, meetings, conferences, seminars, craft fairs, pop-up cafés and book launches, while the courtyard provides an option for summer events and parties.

The Main Hall has 100 square metres of floor space and can seat up to 85 people in its usual café layout. Organisers can enquire about access to a fully equipped catering kitchen, and the hall also has a PA and music system, Wi-Fi, power sockets and wall-mounted heating. The 70-square-metre Annexe Hall can seat up to 50 in its regular layout. It includes use of a small kitchen, Wi-Fi, power sockets and central heating, making it a useful choice for smaller meetings, workshops, group activities and family celebrations.

Situated on Church Street, the centre has direct pedestrian access from the street and offers a flexible setting for events of different sizes. Its community-centre character gives the spaces an informal, approachable feel, while the available kitchens and sound facilities help organisers plan practical arrangements on site. Event planners can contact the centre to discuss their requirements, room suitability and booking details.
