The Old Homestead

The Old Homestead is a historic event venue in Crockett, California, where organisers can hire a landmark home and its surrounding gardens for weddings, family celebrations, memorials and other private gatherings. Built in 1867, the property combines period character with outdoor spaces suited to ceremonies, dining and dancing. The Carquinez Women’s Club maintains the venue and makes it available for bookings.

The gardens feature mature redwood trees, a deck, paved dancing area and evening lighting, including overhead string lights and illuminated paths. Indoors, guests have access to an open-plan room with wicker furnishings, a large dining table, a buffet and an antique piano. The outdoor setting is central to the venue, while the house provides an additional gathering space. Indoor capacity is limited, so the suitable package and season will affect the total guest count.

Several rental options are offered, including packages for weddings and larger celebrations, smaller non-wedding parties, local residents and memorial gatherings. Packages include set periods of venue use, and many provide outdoor tables and chairs with set-up and pack-down. There is guest parking, a designated bar area and a warming kitchen with a commercial refrigerator. Organisers may bring their own caterer and other chosen suppliers. Food can be reheated in the kitchen, while cooking is handled in the outdoor barbecue area, which can accommodate a mobile kitchen or food truck.

Organisers can enquire about availability, arrange a private tour and book through the venue's reservation process. The Old Homestead is a distinctive choice for planners seeking a historic setting, garden atmosphere and the freedom to work with their preferred event suppliers.
