Colwall Ale House

The Colwall Ale House is a historic venue available to hire for private celebrations, community gatherings and other events in Colwall, near Malvern and Ledbury. Set beside the churchyard of St James the Great, this 16th-century hall offers a distinctive setting for wedding receptions, birthday and anniversary parties, christenings, funeral wakes and children’s parties. It also welcomes organisers planning talks, workshops, club meetings, dinners, concerts and charity events.

The hall seats up to 60 people. Its facilities include a kitchen with an oven, microwave, refrigerator and hot-water urn, along with crockery and cutlery for more than 60 guests. Tables, tablecloths and tea towels are also available, giving organisers useful basics for arranging a meal or reception. There is no dishwasher, so this is worth considering when planning catering and clearing up.

The building has wheelchair access, two toilets, including an accessible toilet, and parking in the neighbouring church car park. An outdoor grass area beside the Ale House may also be hired by special arrangement during the summer months. The venue is offered for private hire by the hour, by the day or for two days, with the quoted rates covering use of the building and its facilities. Organisers can contact the booking secretary to discuss availability, arrangements and any practical details for their event.
