The Hitching Post

Set among 40 acres of mature oak woodland near Lake Park, The Hitching Post offers a rural setting for weddings, receptions and other gatherings. The venue centres on a renovated 1936 dairy barn, where the loft provides a spacious setting for dining and celebrations. The barn’s main floor, upper deck and outdoor patio give organisers several areas to use throughout an event, while the grounds and pond offer a scenic backdrop for ceremonies and photographs.

The venue’s wedding package includes use of the barn and its facilities over a booked weekend, with access from Thursday for preparations. Tables and chairs are provided, and the barn has a designated catering area with a preparation counter and sink. Couples can also make use of decorations held on site, the outdoor ceremony area and a fire pit. The venue’s staff are available during the event to open the facilities and provide guidance.

Accommodation on the property makes it possible for wedding parties and guests to stay close to the celebration. Options include a private Bridal House, a Bunk House and three cabins. Overnight parking, tent camping and RV parking are also available, with electrical hook-ups offered for an additional charge.
