The Schoolhouse & Swan Tavern

The Schoolhouse & Swan Tavern is a historic event venue in Fairview, Pennsylvania, offering a distinctive setting for weddings and private gatherings. Housed in a restored one-room schoolhouse, the venue brings together original character and practical spaces for celebrations of different sizes.

The building includes a schoolroom, the Swan Tavern on the lower level, and a courtyard. Couples can hold a ceremony indoors or outdoors beneath a mature beech tree, then continue with a reception at the venue. For other occasions, spaces are available for bridal and baby showers, birthdays, anniversaries, reunions, graduations, corporate events and memorial gatherings. The venue lists indoor event capacity of up to 120 guests, with additional outdoor space across four acres. Organisers using a tent outdoors can accommodate larger gatherings, subject to arrangements.

Event hire includes useful features such as food and beverage tables, gift benches, chalkboards for personal touches and a surround-sound music system. Wedding rentals include use of the building and courtyard, ceremony options, tables, chairs and linens. The venue also provides bar service, with several options for hosts. Organisers can choose their own professional caterer, and the venue publishes a suggested supplier list to help with planning. Smaller gatherings may have self-catering options, depending on the event.

The Schoolhouse can be booked for weddings and events throughout the week, with private and semi-private options available on selected evenings. Its historic details, flexible indoor and outdoor areas, and range of event formats make it suitable for couples, families and organisations seeking a characterful place to gather.
