Royal Isle of Wight Agricultural Society
- Cowes Road, Northwood PO30 5TP, United Kingdom
The Royal Isle of Wight Agricultural Society makes its County Showground available for hire throughout the year. Set in Northwood on the Isle of Wight, the site offers organisers a spacious outdoor location for a variety of gatherings, from weddings and family celebrations to corporate days, public events, horse shows and dog shows.
The grounds include around 25 acres of open field and seven acres of woodland. Their rural setting and surrounding farmland give events room to spread out, with a degree of privacy from the surrounding area. Organisers can discuss using the site for different types and scales of event, including vehicle rallies, school and youth group camping, and clay pigeon shoots.
A 700-square-metre multi-use building is also available for hire. The building serves several agricultural and educational purposes, so event planners should check availability and suitability for their proposed dates and requirements. The showground has water, electricity, Wi-Fi and toilets, and is accessed from the A3020 road between Cowes and Newport.
The Society's annual county show is a separate event, while the wider grounds can be booked by organisers planning their own occasions. Prospective hirers can contact the Society to discuss the site, facilities and booking arrangements. Its combination of open land, woodland and an indoor building gives planners several options to consider when shaping an event on the island.
