Aquatorium

The Aquatorium is a historic event venue in Gary, Indiana, set beside Lake Michigan in Marquette Park. Organisers can rent its distinctive spaces for private celebrations, community gatherings and other events, with a choice of indoor rooms, garden areas and an upstairs open-air gallery. The lakefront setting and the building's preserved character give events a strong sense of place, while the range of spaces allows planners to choose a setting suited to their occasion and guest arrangements.

The venue includes the Tuskegee Room and garden, the Chanute Room and garden, and the open-air upper gallery. Organisers can enquire about hiring an individual area or the entire building. The Aquatorium's history is closely connected with aviation pioneer Octave Chanute and the Tuskegee Airmen, and the building also serves as a place of remembrance and learning. This heritage lends an additional point of interest to events held there.

Rentals are arranged directly with the Aquatorium Society, a not-for-profit organisation that maintains the landmark. The venue's rental rules allow organisers to choose their own caterer, and renters are responsible for setting up and clearing away after their event. The site is suited to planners seeking a characterful location with both enclosed rooms and outdoor spaces, rather than a standard hotel or conventional function hall. Its beachside surroundings, gardens and historic architecture make it a distinctive option for gatherings in the Gary and wider Northwest Indiana area.
