The Rutherford Event Space

The Rutherford is an event venue just outside downtown Greenville, offering more than 10,000 square feet across indoor and outdoor spaces. Its historic 1950s building combines exposed brick, timber beams and hardwood floors with flexible layouts for weddings, receptions, private celebrations and corporate events.

Organisers can choose between three distinct areas. The upstairs Brick Room has tall ceilings, large windows and original pine flooring, with space for gatherings of up to 175 guests. The Warehouse, on the lower level, has glass overhead doors and connects to a covered veranda, providing an indoor setting with an easy route outside. The Courtyard extends from the veranda into a fenced outdoor area and can host up to 200 people. Spaces can be selected to suit the size and style of the occasion.

Practical amenities include tables and chairs, a house sound system, AV equipment, microphones, washrooms on both levels, a preparation kitchen for caterers and on-site parking. Food service is arranged through full-service caterers, with Woodside Bistro identified as a preferred option. Bar packages are provided by the venue's partner, Southern Libations. Couples can also use the venue for a rehearsal and bridal portraits as part of their rental arrangements.

The Rutherford asks organisers to have a professional day-of coordinator or event manager present throughout the event. Rental details vary according to the spaces, date and setup required, so planners can arrange a tour and discuss a suitable configuration with the venue team. Outdoor amplified music is not permitted, while acoustic performances can be held in the courtyard.
