St. James 1868

St. James 1868 is a historic Milwaukee venue offering distinctive indoor and outdoor spaces for weddings and other celebrations. The property brings together two separate venues, The Abbey and The Hyde, which can be hired individually or combined for exclusive use of the full site. This gives event planners options for different guest numbers and styles, from a more intimate gathering to a larger celebration spanning both buildings.

The Abbey occupies the former church sanctuary, with historic architectural details and a courtyard for outdoor gatherings. The Hyde offers a contrasting setting in a former parish hall, with high ceilings, large windows and an outdoor terrace. Couples can arrange ceremonies and receptions across the spaces, and outdoor areas can also be used for ceremonies or cocktail receptions, subject to the chosen hire option.

The venue provides private getting-ready suites, tables and chairs, indoor sound equipment and venue staff to welcome guests and help with the room setup. Optional wedding coordination is available for support with timelines, suppliers and on-the-day arrangements. Clients can also choose from a curated collection of additional rental items through the venue. Catering is provided by selected partner caterers, while beverage service is handled by the venue.

Located on West Wisconsin Avenue in downtown Milwaukee, St. James 1868 gives organisers a choice of historic character, dedicated event spaces and practical support in one property. It is particularly suited to wedding ceremonies and receptions, while its flexible rooms and full-property hire can also accommodate other private and corporate gatherings.
