Chalton Village Hall

Chalton Village Hall is a historic venue available to hire for weddings, family celebrations, children's parties and other smaller gatherings. Set in the rural village of Chalton, close to Luton, the building offers a distinctive setting, with high ceilings, exposed wooden beams and the character of a former 16th-century barn. Its surrounding green grounds and on-site parking add practical space for guests, and the grounds may also accommodate a marquee arranged by the hirer.

The main hall measures 13.2 by 6.4 metres and has a capacity of up to 80 people. Tables and chairs are provided, giving organisers a useful starting point for planning a celebration or reception. A kitchen area includes a large fridge, microwave, kettle and hot water urn. Hirers should note that the hall does not provide an oven or hob, glassware, crockery, cutlery or in-house catering, so these arrangements need to be made separately. The building's historic finishes also mean decorations cannot be attached directly to the walls, although freestanding displays are permitted.

The venue is run by a village hall association, and regular bookings may be possible for activities open to the local community. The hall reopened after structural investigations and remedial works, but further maintenance may be needed. Booking enquiries are currently being accepted only up to two months ahead, so event planners should check availability and any current restrictions before making plans.
