David Brower Center

The David Brower Center is a downtown Berkeley venue offering a choice of indoor and outdoor spaces for meetings, conferences, screenings, talks, receptions and other organised events. Its rooms can be hired separately or combined, giving event planners options for different formats and group sizes in a LEED Platinum-rated building.

The Goldman Theater seats up to 178 people and is equipped for presentations, screenings, lectures and award ceremonies, with projection, sound and lighting facilities. For smaller sessions, the Kinzie Room can be configured for meetings, classes, workshops or breakout groups. The larger Tamalpais Room is adaptable for seminars, presentations, receptions and seated dinners, with layouts including classroom, boardroom and banquet seating. A landscaped terrace with views towards the Berkeley hills can be booked on its own or alongside other rooms for an outdoor gathering or drinks reception.

Venue hire can include support from the events team with room layouts, floor plans, catering recommendations and sustainable event planning. Tables, chairs and some presentation equipment are available, while technical support and audio-visual packages can be arranged for events that need them. Hybrid options are also available for selected spaces. The venue works with a group of catering partners, and organisers can ask about the building's food and beverage requirements when planning.

With several spaces under one roof, the centre can suit a range of professional and community occasions, from a focused meeting to a public lecture or a reception. Its central Berkeley location, accessible facilities and emphasis on lower-impact events make it a distinctive setting for organisers seeking practical event space with an environmental focus.
