De Witte Kerk Hemrik is a historic church dating from 1739 that serves as both a cultural meeting place and a venue for hire. Its characterful space offers organisers a special setting for a wide range of gatherings, while preserving the atmosphere of the historic building. The church is an official wedding venue of the municipality of Opsterland and can be hired for wedding ceremonies and other celebrations. The venue is also suitable for parties, gatherings and courses.

Music groups can use the church for performances, rehearsals and CD recordings. Reflection gatherings and funeral ceremonies are also held there. There is a separate upstairs room for meetings and workshops, suitable for groups of up to twenty people. The church has an induction loop system. The hire includes the presence and support of a venue manager, giving organisers a point of contact on site during their event.

As well as hiring out the venue, De Witte Kerk organises its own cultural activities, including music and theatre performances, a philosophy and literature café, and the annual ART Super art exhibition. This programme gives the building a lively cultural role and makes it a well-known place in Hemrik. Whether for a ceremony, a small gathering, a rehearsal or a public programme, the church offers a characterful setting for people to come together. The upstairs room can be hired in half-day slots for meetings and workshops, while the main space accommodates various types of gatherings and activities.
