Barsema Alumni and Visitors Center

Barsema Alumni and Visitors Center (BAVC) is an event venue on the Northern Illinois University campus in DeKalb, Illinois. Its bright indoor spaces and adjoining outdoor areas can be used for a range of gatherings, from business meetings and conferences to annual galas, receptions and special occasions.

Event planners can choose from rooms of different sizes and arrange room set-ups to suit their event. The venue offers audiovisual equipment and full-service catering, with NIU's event team available to help with planning and practical details. The setting also includes an outdoor patio and sculpture garden, giving organisers options for a cocktail reception, a break outside or a wedding ceremony. The university's wedding venue information notes that ceremonies must be booked alongside an on-site reception.

BAVC is suited to organisers looking for a campus venue with both professional meeting facilities and a more relaxed setting for celebrations. Its spaces can accommodate events with varied formats, while the combination of indoor rooms and outdoor surroundings allows planners to shape the guest experience around their programme. The venue is located on North Annie Glidden Road and provides on-site parking for visitors, which can make arrival more straightforward for guests.

Whether arranging a focused meeting, a company gathering, a reception or a wedding-related event, organisers can contact the venue's events team to discuss the space, catering, equipment and room layout for their plans.
