The Bad Apple

The Bad Apple is a private event venue in Pembroke, Virginia, set in a renovated barn on Doe Creek Farm. It offers a distinctive setting for weddings, receptions, vow renewals, rehearsal dinners, anniversary celebrations, business gatherings, showers, birthdays and private dinners. The venue is suited to smaller occasions, with guest numbers capped at 70 to leave room for dining, dancing and mingling.

Organisers can hire the space for a shorter celebration or a longer wedding reception. Wedding arrangements can include additional time for the ceremony and for the wedding party to prepare. Ceremonies can take place indoors beneath a stained-glass window, while the team can also help couples explore nearby outdoor ceremony locations. A private dressing room gives the wedding party somewhere to get ready, and a separate upper-level lounge offers a place to relax during the event.

The barn has a main dining and bar floor, a loft overlooking the gathering space, a covered entrance and patio, accessible facilities and a lift between floors. Organisers are welcome to bring their own caterers and other suppliers, and the venue has a spacious kitchen for catering use. Its bar team can serve beer, wine and cocktails, with organisers supplying the alcohol for an open bar. The team can discuss cocktail options and provide the equipment and service.

The Bad Apple is a flexible choice for planners seeking a private, characterful venue where they can shape the food, music and guest experience around their occasion. Its staff can assist with practical arrangements and coordinate with suppliers ahead of the event.
