The Johnston House

The Johnston House is a small event venue in Mars, Pennsylvania, offering private rooms for celebrations and gatherings of around 12 to 65 guests. Organisers can choose between several distinct spaces, from an intimate room for a small group to larger rooms suited to showers, birthday parties, anniversaries and corporate events. The rooms have their own character, including a light-filled drawing room, a garden-facing setting and a library with bookcases and a fireplace. Some rooms can be combined for larger gatherings.

The venue provides an event coordinator to help with planning and works with organisers on the details before the occasion. Guests are welcomed by staff, and an itinerary is prepared for the event. Food is provided in-house rather than through outside catering, with set menus and optional additions available for special events. The house also serves afternoon tea by reservation, featuring house-made savoury items, scones and desserts. Vegetarian, nut-free and gluten-sensitive menu options are available, subject to the venue's stated limitations.

The setting is particularly suited to bridal and baby showers, but also welcomes birthdays, anniversaries, business gatherings and other private occasions. The venue is non-alcoholic, and tours are arranged by appointment. Its rooms, garden surroundings and traditional table settings make it a distinctive choice for organisers seeking a more personal venue for a smaller event near Pittsburgh.
