Allington Castle

Allington Castle is a privately owned medieval residence in Maidstone, Kent, available for exclusive weddings, civil partnerships, corporate events and filming. Set within woodland beside the River Medway, the estate combines historic architecture with gardens, lawns, a courtyard and a moat, giving organisers a choice of distinctive settings for their occasion.

For weddings, the Great Hall can host ceremonies and wedding breakfasts, while the restored 17th-century barn provides a separate setting for evening receptions. Couples can choose from short ceremony bookings, twilight celebrations and full-day packages, with bespoke options also available. Depending on the package, facilities and extras may include a licensed bar, resident DJ, dance floor, photo booth, tables and chairs. Catering is arranged separately through the venue's catering partners, with buffet options available in-house for smaller gatherings. The gardens and grounds offer further settings for photographs and time outdoors.

Organisers planning a corporate function can hire the barn for sessions or a full day, with the option of adding activities and tours of the castle and gardens. Catering can be arranged with a recommended partner or, for smaller groups, as an in-house buffet.

The property is also offered to film and television productions. Its hall, galleries, battlements, towers, gardens and other period features provide varied backdrops, while the barn can serve as a place for cast and crew to rest and eat. The team can discuss production needs, including security and trailer parking. As a private residence, the castle is not generally open to the public, so visits and events are arranged by enquiry.
