Swift-Coles Historic Home

Swift-Coles Historic Home offers a distinctive setting for weddings, receptions and private events in Bon Secour, Alabama. Built in the late nineteenth century and expanded into a substantial Tidewater mansion, the historic property combines period character with open grounds beside the Bon Secour River. Its mature oak-lined approach and outdoor spaces provide a memorable backdrop for ceremonies, celebrations and photographs.

The venue welcomes wedding parties for ceremonies and receptions, with space for gatherings of up to 200 guests according to its wedding information. Organisers can use the grounds for vows, dining and dancing, and may arrange access to designated areas of the house. Tables and chairs are provided for wedding layouts, while couples arrange other suppliers and details such as linens, decorations, music and bar service. A pavilion is available as an event setting, subject to the venue's arrangements and rules.

The property also caters for private and corporate functions. Its listed uses include executive retreats, board meetings, training sessions, seminars, banquets, company picnics, luncheons and employee recognition events. The quiet, secluded location offers organisers an alternative to a conventional hotel or modern function room, while nearby Gulf Coast accommodation and attractions can help round out a group visit.

Outside private bookings, the home is open for self-guided historical tours on set days, with private tours available for groups by arrangement. Photography sessions on the grounds can also be scheduled. Event planners can contact the venue to discuss dates, access, layouts and the practical details of hosting an occasion at this historic property.
