The Olympic South Side Theater

The Olympic South Side Theater is a historic event venue in Cedar Rapids' NewBo District, available for weddings, private celebrations and corporate events. Its distinctive theatre setting combines a large stage with a mezzanine and flexible floor layouts, giving organisers options for seated dinners, ceremonies, receptions, meetings, fundraisers and live entertainment.

The space can accommodate up to 500 guests standing, with seating for around 200-300 depending on the layout. Venue features include a projector, sound system, microphones, furniture, a kitchenette and smaller rooms that can serve as private or preparation spaces. For weddings, the venue offers two suites for getting ready, an indoor ceremony option and support with planning the event timeline and floor plan. Tables and chairs can be set up and cleared by the venue team, and wedding bookings include linens, event staff and bar service.

Private event rentals include use of the space, furniture and equipment, along with set-up, tear-down and cleaning. Organisers can bring in their own food and vendors, as catering is not provided. Live music and DJs are welcome, with a sound manager required when using the venue's sound equipment. The venue also provides AV equipment such as microphones and a large-screen projector for presentations and speeches.

Located close to downtown Cedar Rapids, the theatre has nearby parking and an accessible lift to the main event space. Its historic character, stage and adaptable layout make it a distinctive setting for both personal celebrations and organised business events.
