Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary

The Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary offers distinctive indoor and outdoor spaces for weddings, social celebrations, corporate meetings, anniversaries and other gatherings in McKinney, Texas. Set within a natural sanctuary, its venues give event planners a choice of woodland, wetland and garden surroundings rather than a conventional function-room setting.

The Science Resource Center is a main indoor option, with high ceilings, exposed timber beams, a large media screen and broad windows looking out over the wetlands and wildlife sanctuary. Its deck provides another scenic spot, including an option for ceremonies. Laughlin Hall, located in the museum building, offers a more intimate room with nature-themed details, large windows, a kitchen and basic tables and chairs.

For events that benefit from an outdoor setting, the two-acre Native Plant Garden is available as an addition to an indoor venue rental. The Heard Amphitheater can also be added, offering limestone seating for larger gatherings, performances and speeches. The amphitheatre's stated seating capacity is 525.

These spaces suit wedding ceremonies and receptions, family occasions, dinners and business events. Organisers can arrange a venue tour by appointment and request a quote or discuss a date with the rental team. The Heard allows clients to choose their own food and event vendors, and public Wi-Fi and free parking are available. Venue options, layouts and availability vary, so planners should confirm arrangements directly when making an enquiry.
