Glasshouse

Glasshouse is a club-style venue on the Farnham campus of the University for the Creative Arts, operated by the university's Students' Union. Its programme has included themed nights, quizzes, live music and major student occasions such as Freshers and summer events. The venue is principally connected to the UCA student community, and access to its events is subject to student identification and age requirements. Students may bring a guest in line with the venue's guest policy.

Glasshouse also provides a setting for approved student fundraising events and activities. Student organisers must submit a proposal in advance, covering the event idea, preferred date and expected attendance. Fundraising plans require written approval before promotion or ticket sales, and the stated maximum capacity for these events is 600. Organisers are responsible for arrangements such as set-up and clear-up, while security is mandatory and its cost must be covered by the event budget. Ticketing is handled through platforms approved by the Students' Union.

The Students' Union announced in August 2026 that it would stop operating the bar used for Glasshouse events, while keeping the venue open for events and activities in a changed format. Its stated focus includes continuing student-led and society events. Glasshouse is therefore best suited to organisers within the UCA community seeking a campus club setting, rather than being presented as a general-purpose venue for unrestricted external hire. Organisers should confirm current arrangements and approval requirements directly with the Students' Union.
