State Theatre Event Center

State Theatre Event Center is a historic venue in downtown Columbus, Kansas, available for weddings, receptions and a range of private and business events. The restored former cinema offers around 7,000 square feet of flexible indoor space, bringing original theatre character together with practical facilities for contemporary gatherings. Its main floor and balcony provide options for events of different sizes, while an outdoor courtyard can be used for ceremonies, drinks or open-air celebrations.

The venue welcomes wedding ceremonies and receptions, as well as corporate gatherings, business expos, chamber dinners, anniversaries, birthday parties, baby showers, proms, school dances and other special occasions. Couples can make use of a bridal preparation suite, and the rental includes tables and chairs. Linens and other event items are available on request. Bar service is provided by bartenders licensed through the venue, while organisers may bring their own caterer, DJ, florist and other suppliers.

The theatre's distinctive setting can make an event feel special without requiring extensive additional decoration. Organisers can arrange a tour and enquire about availability and pricing for their chosen date. The venue also offers tuxedo hire, including fittings and formalwear options for weddings, proms and other occasions. Its location in Columbus serves event hosts and guests from across south-east Kansas and nearby parts of Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas. Whether planning a wedding or another gathering, organisers can use the historic interior and courtyard to shape an event that suits their guest list and plans.
