The Lake House at Avondale Estates

The Lake House at Avondale Estates is a historic event venue beside the lake in Avondale Estates, just east of Atlanta and close to downtown Decatur. Its Tudor-style building offers a distinctive setting for weddings, ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners, showers, reunions, banquets, birthday parties and other private gatherings. The venue is designed for organisers who want a welcoming, characterful space and the freedom to shape the occasion around their own plans.

Inside, guests enter through a foyer leading to a main function room with a wooden dance floor and areas for seating and dining. French doors connect the room to an outdoor patio, while a covered lakeside porch gives guests another place to gather and enjoy the scenery. A nearby gazebo overlooking the water can also be arranged through the city, making it an option for ceremonies or photographs. The venue can host up to 125 seated guests or 150 standing guests, depending on the event layout.

Organisers can choose their own caterers and other suppliers, and may bring their own food and alcohol. On-site facilities include a commercial catering kitchen, a double-sided service bar, tables and chairs, and a bridal dressing area. Existing furniture can be set out in advance, and parking is available. The venue publishes full-day and hourly hire options, with rates varying by day, and asks organisers to provide a floor plan before the event so the room can be prepared to their specifications. This flexibility makes the Lake House suitable for couples and event planners seeking a private-use venue with indoor and outdoor settings, useful facilities and a scenic lakeside backdrop.
